Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy for Buds Nails, run by Katie Budding as a sole trader. I take your privacy seriously and only collect the information I need to do your nails and stay in touch with you about your appointments.

Who I am

The data controller is Katie Budding, trading as Buds Nails, based in Newton Longville, Milton Keynes, MK17. If you have any questions about your data, or want to make a request, email me at hello@budsnails.co.uk.

What I collect

When you fill in the booking form on this website, I collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number (optional)
  • The service you're interested in and your preferred date
  • Anything you write in the message box

If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 also collects anonymous information about how you use the site (pages visited, time on page, rough location based on IP, device type). This is used in aggregate to help me understand what's working on the site. You can reject these at any time — see my Cookie Policy.

Why I collect it and my lawful basis

  • Booking enquiries — so I can reply and arrange your appointment. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry and, if we book, performance of a contract.
  • Analytics cookies — only if you accept them. Lawful basis: consent. You can withdraw this at any time.

Who else sees your data

  • Web3Forms — the service that delivers the booking form to my inbox. Their privacy policy is at web3forms.com/privacy-policy.
  • My email provider — your enquiry arrives in my personal email inbox.
  • Google Analytics — only if you accept analytics cookies. Google's privacy information is at policies.google.com/privacy.

I don't sell or share your data with anyone else. I don't use it for marketing unless you specifically ask me to.

How long I keep it

  • Booking enquiries — kept for up to 2 years, then deleted.
  • Client records (for booked appointments) — kept for as long as you're a client, plus 2 years after your last appointment.
  • Analytics data — handled by Google Analytics with a 14-month retention period.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Ask what data I hold about you
  • Ask me to correct anything that's wrong
  • Ask me to delete your data
  • Ask me to restrict or stop processing your data
  • Ask for a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent (for analytics) at any time
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

Children

This site isn't aimed at children under 16, and I don't knowingly collect data from them. If a parent or guardian wants to make a booking for a child, that's absolutely fine — please get in touch directly.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will always tell you when it last changed.
